3Phaz, Nadah El Shazly, and Jameela Elfaki

Friday 14 Nov 2025, 8–10:30pm
An evening of boundary-pushing sound and rhythm featuring three leading voices in contemporary Arabic and diasporic music: 3Phaz, Nadah El Shazly, and Jameela Elfaki.
Cairo-based producer 3Phaz opens the night with his high-energy reinterpretation of Egyptian mahraganat/shaabi. His debut album, Three Phase (100Copies, 2020), propelled him onto international stages, and his releases on Rinse, Boomkat, and Irsh continue to redefine Cairo’s electronic underground.
Nadah El Shazly, an acclaimed Egyptian vocalist, composer, and producer, will perform work that blends heritage and innovation, bridging experimental sound and classical Arabic traditions, combining hypnotic vocals with layered electronic textures, live instrumentation, and improvisation. Her debut album, Ahwar (2017), marked her as one of the most original voices to emerge from Cairo’s vibrant underground scene. Her new album, Laini Tani (2025), continues her exploration of voice, memory, and place.
Jameela Elfaki will close the night. Drawing on her East Midlands roots and African heritage, Elfaki crafts sets that bridge cultures and genres. From dub and jungle to soul and UK funky, her sound pulses with both legacy and contemporary edge.
The event is presented by Simsara Music in collaboration with Ibraaz.
Doors open at 7.30pm with the performance starting at 8pm. There will be an intermission break.
