Why Gather? Voices from SWANA

Trigger 6: Assemblies, guest-edited by Taous Dahmani, reimagines gathering as both political act and way of life. Through photography, essays, and archives from SWANA, it traces resistance, ritual, and fleeting encounters. For this live conversation, Dahmani will be joined by Kurdish artist and archivist Êvar Huseynî, artist-filmmaker Didem Pekün, Tate Modern assistant curator Bilal Akkouche, and Palestinian American photographer Adam Rouhana. Together, they will reflect on assembly as a political, artistic, and communal practice – a conversation, a celebration, and a spark of radical hope.
