Hossein Rad (Vocals and Percussion) is a Geneva-based musician and music producer, born in Tehran. He began his musical training at an early age under the guidance of his father, and has since pursued an in-depth study of Iranian classical vocal and instrumental repertoires. His teachers include renowned maestros Ali Bayâni, Djamchid Chemirani and Hamid-Reza Khalatbari, alongside Western vocal training with Muriel Ferraro.
His wide-ranging interests have also led him to explore the traditional music of Central Asia, studied under the guidance of Jean During. Hossein is the founder of Horan Sounds, a non-profit music agency dedicated to supporting Iran-based musicians and promoting their work internationally.
Ava Arehsazan (Oud) began learning music in childhood with her mother, Azar Zargarian. She later continued her oud studies with Ehsan Emami and, at the age of 18, entered the School of Fine Arts at the University of Tehran to study Iranian music.
Alongside her studies, she launched her professional career performing at Niavaran Hall with the Shahrazad ensemble. During this period, she worked with leading figures including Negar Boban, Dariush Talai and Yordal Tokjan, and was awarded first prize at the 11th National Youth Festival for oud.
Following her undergraduate studies, Ava pursued a Master’s degree in composition, with a focus on contemporary Western music. She has since collaborated with the ensembles Aan and Noroud, recording two albums: Aftab Roshan and Noroud.
