People's Justice: Towards an Understanding of Art Solidarity

Alexander Supartono, Marco Baravalle, and Rehana Zaman

Date and Time:

Fri 6 Nov, 3–4.30pm

Location:
Majlis

For the final chapter of Rakyat Pasti Menang, Taring Padi presents works from People’s Justice. This series emerged from a recalibrated and still-evolving collective methodology that reaffirms Taring Padi’s commitment to using art as a tool for political change and social transformation across borders.

Taking this cycle as its starting point, join us for a panel with Alexander Supartono, Marco Baravalle, and Rehana Zaman addressing art as a means of building solidarity.

Examining the speaker’s personal and collective experiences of constructing progressive alliances, the conversation will investigate solidarity as the formation of common practices against the co-optation, disciplining, and censorship exercised by what we might today call the global art-industrial complex.

Doors open at 2.30pm; event starts at 3pm and ends at 4.30pm.
