Twelve Days That Shook the Middle East
Marwan Bishara and Richard Sanders

- Date and Time:
Fri 30 Oct, 6-8pm
- Location:
- Majlis
To mark the launch of his book Twelve Days That Shook the Middle East, Marwan Bishara, senior political analyst at Al Jazeera, is joined in conversation by Richard Sanders of Double Down News.
In Twelve Days, Bishara lays bare the core logic of the three-year Gaza war. From its beginning, he argues that the conflict, justified with the language of national security, executes a premeditated colonial and genocidal strategy.
At the core of the event, the two speakers will explore Bishara’s approach when writing the book and analyse his experience as a journalist covering a war as it is still unfolding, one in which many of his Palestinian colleagues were killed. A wide-ranging conversation will continue about the war, genocide, journalism, and the virtues and pitfalls of prediction in the context of conflict.
Doors open at 5.30pm; event starts at 6pm and ends at 8pm.
