the fall of the lion

the fall of the lion is a short film that follows artist Yara Said as she returns to her home country, Syria, for the first time after a decade in exile—just three days after the fall on December 8, 2024. Like many others, Yara had fled in her early twenties to escape the atrocities of the former regime.

The film captures the duality of this life-changing event and explores intuition as a vital survival tool, especially for women and femme bodies who have lived, and continue to live, on the margins. For this special event, she will perform a live score of the film as Noise Diva, featuring cellist ramilda.

Doors open at 6.30pm; event starts at 7pm and ends at 8pm.
