For this artist project, Nile Sunset Annex asked 130 contemporary visual arts organizers and artists where and when, in Egypt, they have studied and worked over the past 25 years. By tracing institutional meeting points through talking to people and, as with much of Nile Sunset Annex's work, expanding outwards from a network of acquaintances the project resists any impulse to explain or interpret, prioritizing the visual and the lighthearted over claims of expertise. Although the resulting project is a totally non-comprehensive sample, it gives an idea of the scope of institutions around which artists, artworks and art events have been developing over the years.

The resulting data can be seen in the chart below. Because the histories of these institutions tend not to be well documented, there are some blank spots in terms of who worked with whom, and some institutions have ceased operating and disappeared from collective memory. People were consulted through a Google questionnaire sent via email, Facebook and Whatsapp, and then follow-up questions were asked where necessary by email, Facebook, Whatsapp, telephone or in person. People's names have been removed, but each person has been allocated a different colour so that their progress can be followed over time, and the name of each institution holds a hyperlink to further information about it, mainly through independent Egyptian news site Mada Masr.

Nile Sunset Annex is an evolving artist-run production and dispersion outfit for contemporary art that emerged out of the context of the art scene in Cairo in 2013. Among other things, they have hosted exhibitions, produced publications and art objects, and experimentally collected art. They are currently producing a monthly Glossary project for Mophradat, and are involved in Meeting Points 8.
