Over the past six years, Foxglove has forced the UK government to admit for the first time it was wrong in forcing through a new hyperscale data centre without proper checks to make sure it wouldn’t damage the environment; worked with openDemocracy during the pandemic to expose how US spy tech firm Palantir was secretly handed its first contract with the NHS; and launched the first lawsuits against TikTok’s union-busting of its key safety workers in London.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Vikram Subrmanian\u003C/strong> is an ex-Google Engineer who organizes with No Tech For Apartheid(NoTA) in Zurich. Vikram worked in BigTech for 20+ years and started organizing with NoTA in 2024 after learning about Project Nimbus, a contract signed by Google and Amazon to provide Cloud and AI services to the Israeli government and the IDF. Vikram left Google in 2025 but continues to organize Google and BigTech workers against Project Nimbus and militarization in tech in general.\u003C/p>\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Jaya Klara Brekke\u003C/strong> works on power and technology in theory and practice and is the curator of the \u003Ci>Technology & Power\u003C/i> series at Ibraaz. She writes and speaks on emerging technologies, their political economies and entanglement with our understandings of ourselves and others.
