Faced with losing their cultural heritage, they go undercover in ISIS territory and create a system to monitor theft and destruction of Syrian antiquities. During this process, they discover more than they anticipated, discovering thousands of trafficked items and that the crimes committed are being enabled by terrorists and multinational corporations. He was the founder and Director of the Scientific and Conservation Laboratories at the General Department of Antiquities and Museums (1999-2004) and taught at the University of Damascus until 2006. Amr Al-Azm is a tenured Professor of Middle East History and Anthropology at Shawnee State University in Ohio. He also teaches in the Gulf Studies program at Qatar University and in the Foreign Service School at Georgetown University-Qatar.\u003C/p>\u003Cp style=\"margin-left:0px;\">Amr Al-Azm is a keen follower and commentator on current events in Syria and the Middle East in general. He has written articles in numerous journals, and major media outlets including guest editorials for the \u003Ci>New York Times,\u003C/i> \u003Ci>Time Magazine, Foreign Policy \u003C/i>and\u003Ci> Foreign Affairs.\u003C/i>\u003C/p>\u003Cp style=\"margin-left:0px;\">Furthermore Amr Al-Azm is a founder and board member on The Day After project (\u003Ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"http://tda-sy.org/en?lang=en\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u003Cu>TDA\u003C/u>\u003C/a>) and currently coordinates the Heritage Protection Initiative (\u003Ca target=\"_blank\" href=\"https://hpi.tda-sy.org/en?_gl=1*1f15uhn*_ga*MzQ0ODkwMDUuMTcwNzY4NzMxMQ..*_ga_Z0G4HELDBT*MTcwOTA3MzAzOC4yLjEuMTcwOTA3MzA0NS4wLjAuMA..\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u003Cu>TDA-HPI\u003C/u>\u003C/a>) at the TDA.
