He is considered one of the leading conceptual photographers of his generation. Spanning photography, moving image, sculpture, sound and installation, Sarkissian’s practice creates meditative dreamscapes in some moments; deathscapes in others – sites where the muted voice, absent from the frame, is temporarily offered space to breathe. Selected recent solo exhibitions include Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Fotografisk Center in Copenhagen, Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht, Bonniers Konsthall in Stockholm, Sharjah Art Foundation, and Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in Texas.  \u003C/p>\u003Cp style=\"margin-left:0px;\">\u003Cstrong>Odessa Warren\u003C/strong> is a Lebanese-British curator from Cyprus. She is currently Curator at Ibraaz where she works on exhibitions and programme. Previously, she was Assistant Curator of International Art at Tate Modern. She has also worked in a curatorial and research capacity with Beirut Art Center, The Palestinian Museum, and Forensic Architecture. In \u003Ci>Stolen Past\u003C/i>, Sarkissian employs an adapted lithophane printing technique to create 3D renderings of mobile phone images of looted artefacts from the Raqqa Museum in Northern Syria. In this wide-ranging conversation, Sarkissian reflects on his long-term engagement with photography as an expanded practice and how he makes histories of violence and erasure that have been suppressed from view present.
