The build-up to the first anniversary of the revolution, January 25th 2012, was a period of intense excitement. The Army was losing its grip on the public imagination, the streets had been alive in protest through the winter and there was a sense that anything could happen.

I am particularly grateful that this video exists. It could not have been made at any other moment, and it catches the feeling of the moment, the confidence, the faith in the future, the essential optimism that the revolution maintained in the face of all the violence thrown at it.
